The world famous Gibb River road is a stunning location to unleash your creativity and your drone, the landscapes are simply amazing and offer pristine waterfalls rock pools and 350 million year old Devonian reefs that now form part of the landscape. Whichever way you look you will be inspired by the pristine and ancient landscapes of this truly last wilderness frontier. We are running 2 only dedicated drone tours in 2017. Our professional drone specialist Matthew Adams has 6 years under his belt as a professional drone pilot that combined with the expertise of Kevin Smith with 25 year’s experience as a professional photographer and guide adds up to the ultimate Kimberley drone adventure.

Frontier Photography Tours can put together Gibb River road tours ranging from 3 days to 14 days and we will work with you to develop your dream itinerary or you can simply leave it up to us the put it together for you. Maximum of 8 per tour so book early as we have limited numbers this season.

                                               A sample itinerary of a 12 day Gibb River Kimberley Drone Adventure

Day 1
Depart Broome at the crack of dawn and travel east towards Derby and the Gibb River road, early morning  drone flight at the famous Prison Boab tree and then onto the Gibb. Early afternoon walk through Tunnel Creek and late afternoon flight of the Napier Range,  Windjana Gorge is  our first night under the stars camping in the outback, Night walk through Windjana Gorge and Night Sky photo shoot. 

Day 2
Early morning walk and drone flight through Windjana Gorge then back on the Gibb to Bell Gorge  for a Photo Shoot and swim. The journey east takes us through and across the King Leopold Range with stops at secluded water holes and remnant pockets of the rare Kimberley Liverstonia Palm tree. Our overnight destination is Charnley River Station were we camp out at the Homestead camp grounds. 

Day 3 
On Charnley station we explore the many waterfalls and gorges, here we have a great opportunity for Bird life and wildlife drone photography, incredible night sky photo opportunities as well. 


Day 4 
Early departure from Charnley and back onto the Gibb tracking further east into the heart of the Kimberley, on route we stop off at Adcock Gorge and Galvins Gorge for more drone photo shoots of the waterfalls a swim and then on to Mt Elisabeth Station, along the way stopping at the landscape opportunities, late afternoon photo shoot and arrival into our overnight camp on Mt Elisabeth station

Day 5
Early morning  drone photo shoot on Mt Elisabeth then on the Gibb heading east to Home Valley Station along the way stopping at some aboriginal art site's for a flight, this stretch of the journey has plenty of great flight opportunities and frequent stops are the order of the day. We will time our arrival into home valley for sunset and stop off at a spot that has amazing views of the Cockburn Range and the Pentecost River. after dinner this same spot is amazing for Milky Way night sky photography with the back drop of the ranges.

Day 6 and 7
Early morning  drone photo shoot of the Pentecost river at sunrise then on to the river crossing of the Pentecost another fantastic opportunity for a flight, then driving east towards the mighty Cockburn range and then into El Questro Station. We will spend 2 nights at El Questro as there are some fantastic gorges and landscapes to explore . Guests can book a chopper flight if they choose . El Questro has some great bird life and a hot spring that’s in a magnificent  patch of remnant Rain Forrest, a soak in the hot springs is a must do to get reinvigorated for the adventures that lay ahead.

Day 8
Depart El Questro and head up the Gibb to Wyndham and our camp ground at Parry’s Lagoon which is a bird paradise  and home to the region’s top predator the salt water crocodile. Wyndham has an amazing lookout atop a massive hill called the Bastion from the top you look out over Cambridge Gulf and you can see 5 rivers feeding into the Gulf. This spot is amazing in the late afternoon light and a truly incredible place to fly your drone

Day 9 and 10
Depart Parry's Lagoon and travel south to Purnululu National park home to the famous Bungle Bungle's This is truly a spectacular national park and we will explore it over 2 days, our camp ground is at the Bungles. This location is just made to explore with your drone and it will offer breath taking landscapes of the majestic bee hive domes of the national park

Day 11
We leave the Bungle Bungle’s and Travel South West  to Halls Creek and then due south down to Wolfe Creek Crater first discovered in 1947 it’s the best preserved intact meteorite crater on earth and its massive, 900 meters wide and 60 meters deep and both early morning and late afternoon offers amazing photo flight opportunities. From atop the Rim at night we will do a photo shoot from capturing the milky way over the crater. 

Day 12
We brake camp for the last time and head east on the final day arriving back into Broome just in time for a sunset drink and fare well and of course one last photo opportunity for a flight on Cable Beach.
